The Best Overall Cricket Powder is made by Cricket Flour. I ordered this cricket flour to make the vanilla chocolate chip cookies from the website’s recipes. The cookie recipe is excellent – with this package, it made about 48 cookies. I was, however, under-educated on what happens when you bake a massive amount of cricket flour in the oven – it smells like you just put a 1,000 insects on a cookie sheet and roasted them. But – I wouldn’t consider that a deterrent from seriously participating in insects as a protein source. It’s more like a head’s up to open your kitchen windows prior to baking with cricket flour. So, hot out of the oven, the cookies were awesome at first bite, but super-foreign to the taste-buds after that. I’d recommend (if using the cookie recipe) letting them cool and “settle” prior to eating. The product packaging is excellent, and the contents – the cricket flour – comes at a super-high quality.
